In Colombia there are a lot of protest songs like in America
that I listened to when I was younger, that kind of music is like “punk”, when
I was sixteen I started to listen that music because it talks about hungry,
inequality and like our senators and congressmen take all the money while
normal people like you and me use to work very hard and only get crumbs, there
are other aspects that punk talks about, it protests against priest and
religions in general, because people who write punk songs say all religions are
only a business and they lie to us only to get our money, besides they criticize
strongly the Vatican, because they say if religious really care about poor
people, they shouldn’t have all gold things that they have and they should
distribute all money they have in the Vatican bank with poor people, even, they
should live a poor style life like Jesus taught them instead of living in the
rich way in which they actually do.
Besides punk constantly asks why you are not free? And why
you have to be governed by a person if
all people is equal? Punk likes equality between persons, because nobody
is better than you.
My Grandmother would totally agree with you, she always said the Church should do more for people who were poor.
